Brief Description: Began review of QB fuselage against plans
Began working through plans to verfy each step completed by Vans QB builders. Found several small items not completed.
Determined that there is a lot of items that have been temporarily held in place with soft pop-rivets, which will need to be drilled out for access and eventually replaced with rivets per the plans.
Installed cabin heat selector boxes to firewall. Did not do final install with pro-seal as markings on the boxes for left & right result in the actuation lever on the bottom while drawings show it on the top. Will wait until this is resolved before making permanent attachments.
Installed the bulkhead tube fittings for the brake system. This required climbing into the fuselage in order to reach the mounting bracket on the firewall. Removed the control panel and set it aside to proved improved access. Need to purchase a tubing bender before installing the brake lines between the bulkhead fittings.
Added a layer of fiberglass with resin to the inside of each of the 3 stabilizer fairing tips.
Enlarged 3 holes in the firewall recess box for 3 Lycoming control cables using step drill.
