Brief Description:  Fuel Caps, Heater Cable Safety Wire, Stick Cutting

Polished the tops of the 2 fuel caps after disassembling them. Started with 240 grit sandpaper, followed by 400, 600, and 1000 wet sandpaper. Then went to a set of micro abrasives running up to 4000 grit. Finished with a buffing wheel with rouge in the Dremel tool for final polishing. Will then have the caps engraved for fuel type and capacity.

Had a visit by another RV-10 builder along with his Tech Advisor who is an A&P/IA wiho has build his own RV-10. After doing an inspection the A&P/IA found that I had forgotten to reinstall safety wire on the heater cable clamps at the heater valves when I removed the cables to shorten them and install them through the cabin lower center console. We discussed a couple of other items and after reviewing the plans he agreed that my construction in those areas was correct.

Installed the called for safety wire at each of the two cable Adel clamps on the top of the heater valve box on the forward side of the firewall.

Cut the right control stick down by 2 inches at the top of the stick, and by 1/2 inch at the bottom of the stick. This provided the additional clearance required to avoid hitting the panel at full nose down control movement.
