Brief Description: Installed Wing Tips and Wing Lights
Re-arranged aircraft within the hanger, moving the Piper Brave crop duster to the back with my RV-10 now in front allowing more room to install the wing tips and access to the ramp for future testing.
Installed the Landing/Taxi lights and the strobe/nav lights in the wing tips. Installed the wing tips onto the wings.
Had to extend the Landing/Taxi light wires in the left wing tip so that they could be plugged in before attaching the wingtip. Cut the connector with wires at the wing, soldered a foot of wire to each of these wires with heat shrink covering, and then used crimp butt splices to re-attach to the wing wiring. Fortunately, the wiring in the right wing was just long enough to attach without needing to be extended.
Broke one of the bottom side wing tip attachment screws on the left wing. The head sheared off the screw. Drilled out the screw and tapped it with a 6-32 tap. Replaced with a new screw and a counter sunk washer as the aluminum dimpled hole had been enlarged while removing the broken screw.
