Brief Description:  Overhead Cabin Lights Wiring

Installed additional required wires in overhead console for the over head eyeball reading lights and the baggage lights. Soldered all the interconnections in the overhead wiring, then installed micro molex connectors to allow easy connection/disconnection of wiring to the lights/switches when installing/removing the plates with the lights/switches to the overhead console.

Started installing the eyeball lights into the plates and realized that they needed shims to make them tight due to the aluminum plates being thinner than the plastic mounts they came on. Looked for rubber bushings at both Lowes and Tractor Supply, but in both cases the rubber washers were too thick at 1/8", even though the bins for them were marked as 1/16" thick.

Bought a large plastic "for sale" sign and made shims out of this material. Used a 2 1/4" hole saw to cut out the disks, and then used a smaller 1 3/4" hole saw to carefully remove the center of the disks forming washers that I used as shims to tighten the eye ball mounts.

Connected the lights without screwing them to the overhead and tried to light them from the control panel, but they would not light up. Checked for power at the lights and there was none.
