Brief Description:  Control Panel Center Console Sides

Looked at potential routing for push/pull cables for the parking brake, alternate engine air, and heater. All of these will be mounted through the small side bump-outs on the control panel center console side panels.

Unwrapped the side panels and discovered that these had not yet been drilled for mounting to the sides of the center breaker panel, nor to the tunnel cover. They have also not been drilled for the push/pull cables, nor labeled for them.

Measured and aligned the side panel mounting flanges to the breaker panel to determine locations for the 4 mounting screws on each side. Put masking tape on the outside areas of the breaker panel where the holes will be drilled to allow marking hole locations and to protect the finish of the panel sides. Marked the locations for each of the mounting screws on the breaker panel masking tape and center puched for the holes. Covered the breakers and switches already installed using plastic, and then drilled #30 holes in the breaker panel sides.

Held the side panels in place onto the breaker panel sides using cleco spring clamps, and match drilled the #30 holes through the breaker panel sides into the side panel flanges. Clecoed the side panel to the breaker panel, and enlarged the holes to #12 for the attachment screws.

[Left the shop early to meet James Bates for lunch during his visit to Houston]
