Brief Description:  GTN 650 Wiring

Unpacked, Inventoried, and stored parts in appropriate trays that were received on Friday and Saturday evenings from ACS and Digi-Key.

Measured, cut, labeled and added wires to the wiring layout board for all GTN 650 connectors.

Found the GTN 650 connector kits and sorted components by connector.

Stripped back the cables for P1002, soldered drains to the shields, stripped wires and crimped micro pins to the wires, and installed the wires into the connector. Attached the shield drains to the back shell with 16-22 AWG crimp ring terminals and SS screws/lockwasher/flat washers per the Garmin diagram.

Started assembling the P1002 connector into its back shell and realized that I was missing the mounting scews that hold the connector to the GTN frame back unit and the connector back shell. Spent quite a bit of time before finding these tiny screws included in the package with the fan connector. Removed the back unit from the GTN frame and installed the P1002 connector with back shell to the back unit.

Installed the crimp ring terminals to the drains and connectred them to the PFD-2 connector and the MFD connector back shells. Installed each crimp terminal to a pair of drain wires, by stripping the drain wires and twisting them together before crimping. Attached the drains to the back shells.
