Brief Description:  Ground Straps, Throttle Quadrant, Fiberglass Bump-

Inventoried and put away the parts received from Aircraft Spruce

With the larger bolts received, bolted the 2 ground straps to the tabs on the engine mount prepared earlier (straps were mounted to the engine about a week ago). Measured resistance between an engine bolt and the fire wall with a VOM, and measured zero ohms.

Mounted the throttle quadrant to the tunnel cover with screws and nuts, and then connected the control cables to the cable bracket and the quadrant. Controls moved smoothly but the mixture seemed to be a much shorter throw than the prop or throttle. Will check on the mixture arm at the throttle body later, as the cable bracket for the mixture seemed to be flexing more than I expected. Marked the location for the cable bracket on the tunnel cover. Disconnected the cables and removed the tunnel cover to drill the cable bracket holes.

Decided that in order to more easily remove the tunnel cover I should install plate nuts into the cover rather than using screws with nuts on the bottom of the cover. Installed nut plates for each of the 4 quadrant mounting holes. Drilled the 2 holes for the cable bracket and installed nut plates on those holes as well. Will re-install the throttle quadrant and re-connect the cables when I am ready to close up the tunnel (after installing an access hatch through one side of the tunnel.

Sanded the A/C compressor bump-out on the lower cowl to smooth it out. Painted the bump-out with neat epoxy with white pigment to seal it and fill minor dents and pin holes.
