Brief Description:  Filtered Air Box

Started creation/fitting of the Filtered Air Box. The instructions for this are probably the worst of any in the RV-10 kit! It appears the original filtered Air Box used in early RV models has been used for the later aircraft, and the original instructions and parts just provided as a separate "package".

Determined that with fuel injection, the carb heat door described for installation in the air box is not required. However with the vertical induction throttle body, the indent for the throttle linkage is required. Determined the location of the indent and cut the fiberglass box for the indent piece.

Cut the aluminum top piece to fit within the cowl. Will trim the fiberglass box front later after fitting the top.

Found that the throttle arm hits the indent with the bearing on the inside of the arm. Moved the bearing to the outside and now it hits the cowling. Tried slightly bending the throttle arm, which helped but still have the same problems. May be able to use a slighty shorter bolt with a thin washer and the bearing on the outside to clear the air box indent, and them will have to cut out a small section of the cowl to fit the outside position of the bearing and fiberglass in the resulting open area. (Several others on Van's Air Force had the same problem and resolved it by cutting the cowl to fit.
