Brief Description:  Filtered Air Box Creation

Aligned the Filtered Air Box top to the bottom cowl air inlet in the horizontal direction. Had to trim the top to fit into the cowl. Took several tries with the bottom cowl on and off about 4 times to get it to line up properly with the inlet and fit within the bolt hole pattern on the throttle body attach plate. Once clamped in alignment, drilled the 6 mounting holes and installed nut plates per the plans.

Re-installed the air box top with the bottom cowl to check for vertical alignment. Turned out the vertical alignment was correct without further bending. Installed the air box top into the air box fiberglass bottom and drilled rivet holes in the back portion. Clecoed it in place and re-installed it to check for front opening fit. Had to trim the front fiberglass to get it to fit. Then realized the fiberglass and aluminum top needed futher trimming allow the bottom cowl to be installed with the box together. With it trimmed, placed the bottom cowl into place and realized that the cowl was hitting some of the clecoes. Removed the interfering clecoes and finally got the cowl in place. Checked the front of the full air box and found it was correctly aligned, so removed the bottom cowl and drilled the remaining rivet holes.
