Brief Description:  Wheel Fairings

Sanded the wheel fairing half joints to get the halves to match smoothly. Found that cutting a round hole in the top of a box to hold the front half facing up made it much easier to assemble the halves to check the fit. It took a lot of time, but got both fairings fitting well.

Fabricated shims and positioned them between the brake discs and the U-1010-L Main Wheel Fairing Brackets. Used a piece of plexiglass trimed from the corner of the windscreen as the shim for the left wheel, and two thinner pieces of plexiglass from early cutting practice for the right wheel which has a narrower gap.

Marked the vertical and horizontal center lines on the rear of each fairing. Marked the locations for the nutplate locations on the U-1010-L Main Wheel Fairing Bracket.

Cut a V-Block fixture from 3/8" plywood at home using my table saw to get straight accurate cuts. Also cut several wooden spacer blocks of different lengths from a wood 2x4 using the table saw.
