Did final install of the Plane Around 180 door latches with the Aerosport low profile handles into both doors.
Installed the new middle rods and completed the 180 deg. door latch mechanisms.
Re-installed the doors on the door hinges and marked the locations for the latch rod holes in the fuselage using the pointed bolts previously prepared for this. Used masking tape on the fuselage/cabin top door openings to get a clear location for the door latch rod holes. Removed the doors from the hinges.
Drilled the holes starting with a #40 drill bit and working upward in size. Found that the 7/16 inch holes size specified by the Van's drawings resulted in a very snug/binding fit, so drilled the holes and 64th inch larger using a 29/64 drill bit. Then using the Plane Around delrin pin guides with a piece of the door latch rod cut off to center them in the latch holes, drill the #12 mounting holes for the pin guides.
I will install the plexiglass windows into the doors before making the final attachment of the doors and sanding down the pin guides for the best fit.
