Brief Description:  Prep Doors for Painting; Prep Windscreen for Gluin

Tightened the nose wheel axel bolt to 15 ft-lbs using new torque wrench received yesterday.
Tightened the engine mount attachment bolts to 15 ft-lbs and secured with cotter pins.

Disassembled the door latches and removed them from the doors to prepare for painting the door interior sides. Applied an epoxy/micro mix to areas on the door interior skins with small defects in the surface finish. After allowing the epoxy to cure for about 3 hours to a slightly rubbery feel, lightly sanded the areas with 220 grit sandpaper to remove the excess and smooth the areas. Will finish the sanding tomorrow after the epoxy has fully cured and hardened.

In preparation for installing the windscreen, confirmed that the trimming of the plexiglass is correct. Then removed about 1.5 inches of plastic protective cover from the portion of the plexiglass to be glued to the fiberglass cabin top. Masked the top ~0.75 inch of the area to be glued by using electrical tape (Scotch 33+), then sanded the area to be glued using 220 grit sandpaper. Sanded the flange of the fiberglass cabin top where the windscreen will be glued with 220 grit sandpaper.

Removed ~ 4 inches of plastic protective cover from the bottom ouside of the windscreen where it will be fiberglassed to the fuselage forward top skin. Removed ~ 2 inches of plastic protective cover from the bottom inside of the windscreen, as that area will be difficult to reach once the windscreen is glued in place.

Primed the 2 center latch gearbox covers made yesterday in preparation for painting. Will paint these at the same time the doors are painted. Also primed the inside of the clips made for holding the windscreen to the fuselage. Did not prime the outside as that side will be covered by fiberglass and thus protected from corrosion.
