Brief Description:  Forward Fuselage Top Assembly

With Kristi's help, installed the rivets holding the Upper Forward Fuselage Assembly to the firewall. Then riveted the Instrument Panel Lower Flange to the side skins.

Riveted the lower edges of the Forward Fuse Top Skin to the fuselage structure.

Riveted the lower end of the baggage bulkhead channel to the Bellcrank Rib. This was very difficult to get to the shop head for bucking the rivets as I waited much longer than the plans called for (in order to be able to remove the channel to access the back of the tail cone). One of the rivets was toe nailed over and I was not able to drill it out to replace it as the factory head was not easily accessed for drilling. So gave up after a lot of effort, and instead drilled two additional holes near the bad rivet and installed LP4-4 pulled rivets to ensure the bulkhead channel is well secured.

Installed all the rivets called for into the top of the baggage bulkhead channel as called out in the drawings. This had to be done before installing the cabin top as the front side of these rivets will be hidden behind the overhead console rear flange and so inaccessible. Squeezed the 3 AN426AD4-4 rivets as shown, and installed the CS4-4 in the top hole as called for in the plans.

Installed the .035" thick cover plate over the hole drilled originally for the ADS-B In antenna deep in the bottom of the tail cone. Applied Pro-Seal to the plate and then installed it using 4 AN426AD3-4 rivets.
