Brief Description:  Prep For Closing Fuselage

Began prepartion for closing the fuselage by installing the cabin top.

Ran a few additional ground wires to the tail cone for the air conditioner and a #10 ground wire to the side structural ground terminal.

Cleaned up the wiring in the tail cone with tie-wraps and lacing cord.

Installed wire pads on the right back side of the baggage bulkhead and ran the wire for a speaker up that side for routing into the overhead console. I'm still not sure if I need/want a speaker in addition to the head sets, but I will have the wires installed if I decide to install one.

Created a cover plate for the hole I drilled for the ADS-B In antenna, which I won't need with the change in planned transponder. Match drilled and dimpled the plate for rivets. Will use pro-seal to seal it when I rivet it into place. (Need a helper to reach both sides of the rivets.)

Re-installed the forward upper forward fuselage assemby and clecoed it into place.

Found it almost impossible to rivet the forward tab of the F-1044B angle to the F-1001B upper firewall angle as called for in step 1 on page 41Q-6. By removing all the clecos holding the top skin to the firewall and the firewall to the ribs, I was able to carefull bend the firewall forward which allowed me to reach down in from the top front and install a LP4-3 rivet that is called out as an option on the plans. This required the use of the hand rivet puller with the nose twisted to fit, as the pneumatic puller wouldn't fit nor would the pneumatic squeezer or the hand squeezer, nor was there room for a bucking bar.

Reinstalled the clecos in preparation to install the rivets in the ribs and bottom edge of the F-1071 forward fuse top skin. Will install these rivets when I have a helper.

Borrowed a terminal crimper from Chuck McCluggage for the large #2 AWG power wire from the master relay in the tail cone to the starter relay on the firewall. Will install these terminals when they arrive later this week from Aircraft Spruce.
