Brief Description: Completed Right Wing Tip, Started Left Wing Tip
Re-installed the right wing tip to the right wing with the wing tip rib in the trailing edge.
Lining up the rib was difficult with the face flush to the wing tip edge. Used a 2x2 piece of wood about 4 ft. long run up through the landing light hole to push the rib out to be even with the opening in the wing tip. Marked the top and bottom of the rib flanges and removed the wing tip to the work bench. Drew the locations for the mounting rivets onto the wing tip per the drawings, and drilled the top and bottom rivet holes.
Re-installed the wing tip with the rib inside to the wing. Carefully adjusted the rib to the proper location and drilled the rivet holes from the forward edge back to the trailing edge, installing clecos as I went.
Removed the right wing tip and set it aside until I have a helper to drive the rivets that will hold the rib in-place. (Can't get to the inside with a squeezer so will have to drive and buck the rivets.
Began fitting the left wing tip to the left wing. After strimming the wing tip, fitted it into the left wing. Again held the trailing edge of the wing tip to the trailing edge of the wing by tying a cord around the length of the wing. Match drilled the mounting holes in the wing tip.
Removed the wing tip and drilled the mounting holes in the wing and the wing tip to #28, and dimpled the holes in the wing skins for a #6 screw.
