Brief Description:  Cabin LIghts

Finally figured out how to remove the eyeball LED lights from the bezel with switch that I bought but which wouldn't fit in the overhead. By using the basic eyeball lights with separately mounted round rocker switches, they will fit in the overhead console and should be good for overhead reading lights.

Planned, layed out and cut the holes for the eyeball lights and switches in the overhead console aluminum access plates. Used a step drill for the switch holes, opening them up slightly and then using a small file to cut the index slot. After using the step drill to start the large hole for the eyeball lights, then used a saber saw to open the holes to close to the final size. Used a Dremel tool with 60 grit sanding drum to smooth and enlarge the holes to final size, then smoothed to finished size using a small 1" Scotchbrite wheel in a cordless drill.

Determined the best place for a switch for baggage area overhead lights was in the lower corner of the rear baggage bulkhead panel so it is easily accessed from the open baggage door but out of the way of baggage. Cut the switch hole for the switch in the same way as the overhead light switches.

Ended the day by gluing the remaining wing tip insert for the landing/taxi lights into the stock wingtip that was prepared a couple of months ago. Used West System epoxy with fibers as the adhesive. Will add strips of fiberglass inside the insert in the future.
