Brief Description:  Aileron Actuation

After removing the bottom skin from the right wing and deburring the J stiffener, we moved on to the Aleron Actuation section of the plans.

Torqued the fuel tank bolts to 28 in-lbs using the new torque wrench that arrived last night from Amazon. Wrench worked great.

Fabricated the torque tube to bell crank push rods (2) per the plans.
Cut the bell crank to aileron push rods. However the threaded rod ends do not fit into the push rods. Tried filing the inside of the push rod tubes but was unable to open the hole enough. Tried a Dremmel tool with small grind stone, but it also did not remove enough steel to allow the rod ends to be inserted. Bought a drill bit on the way home to use tomorrow.

Installed the bell crank bushings into the bell cranks, and then installed the bell cranks into the wings. Had to remove the bell crank brackets installed in the QB wings in order to slightly enlarge the bell crank mounting bolt holes as they were too small for the bolt.

Started assembling the torque tube sub-assemblies. However, could not find the torque tube collars WD-1014C in the provided materials. This item was also not listed on the QB wings inventory list. After doing a search on VAF, it turns out many people have had this same problem. There is a black steel tube provided with the kit that is unlabeled, and when cut in half becomes the 2 required WD-1014C parts.

Also started bending the left brake line for installation into the fuselage.
