Brief Description:  Fit Empennage Fairings

Continued to fit fairings to empennage, including rudder top and bottom and vertical stabilizer.

In order to move the elevator trim tab out of the way we used a 12 volt power supply purchased at Fry's to move the servo. In doing so, it was observed that the trim tabs do not move together, and in fact the left tab hits a null point and then reverses while the right tab continues to advance above trailing position. Checked with Van's builder assistance via phone call, and was told that the RV-10 elevator trim is asymetrical and that this behavoir is normal and not something that requires correction.

Had problems with the second Harbor Freight rivet puller purchased (the first could not be opened to add hydraulic oil). This one leaked oil and blew it out the air exhaust vent making a big mess! Used this puller anyway to install the left elevator fairing, and the rivet heads were smoother after installation. However due to oil leaks, I will take this one back and look for a different supplier/brand.

Trimmed and fitted the upper and lower elevator fairing, but didn't rivet either. Will need to run wires for tail light before riveting the bottom fairing (will try to decide on type of light at Air Venture at end of July). Realized that a decision must be made as to if the VOR/ILS antennas should be installed in the verticle stabilizer before closing it up. (Do I even want/need this antenna with GPS navigation?)

Began looking at QB wings and drawings.
