Brief Description: Gear installed!! More firewall installations
A massive day! After installing carefully per instruction drawings, the engine mounts and bolts the momentus moment of putting her on her landing gear arrived. The landing gear, brakes, flanges and wheels were assembled and fitted one by one and the tires slowly inflated then deflated, adjusted and re-inflated, the hub bolts were torqued per instructions and the brake flanges installed and drilled to the gear legs. With help the airplane was lifted onto supports and then the gear was one by one greased, inserted, adjusted, match drilled and secured with relevant bolts and hardware. The wheels were fitted one by one correctly and once all was secure and sound she was again lifted and the supports removed and then she was lowered on to her gear for the first time! The tail was soundly propped up and the wheels slightly deflated and chocked to keep her in place. I am happy with the height and stability when on board for future work in the cabin and fuselage.
