Brief Description:  canopy frame made up, final riveting and completio

continued work on the canopy frame structure with a view to complete this so that the hinges can be drilled and installed. First was to make up and complete the brackets, first of which was the C-614 'splice plate' which was fixed to the frame which was clamped and propped in proper postion to avopid warping, the two halves were clamped in places - joined with the splice plate, the members were then match-drilled, deburred and cleco'd in place so the clamps could be removed, once I was satisfied with the join of the two halves in terms of how they lined up, squareness etc I countersunk and began riveting uintil I had a complete join. The remaining match-drilling was done on the frame and skin and the entire structure hung up and re-primed after having been worked again.

With my intentions of final drilling and fitting the canopy tilting structure and frame I then turned my attention to completing all the outstanding fitting and riveting of the deck structure to the cabin and the various parts that were left clecod fot fitment of the frame, the rubber seals need to be glued in place but then it will all be done, It was whilst fitting the canopy frame that I noticed the panel ribs needed trimming because they were interfering with the hinges in place and I couldn't get a nice join of the two skins. I trimmed the first one, a little at a time untill I got a perfect fit on that side but now realised that these ribs were now quite flimsy and would require some reinforcing. I spent some time designing a reinforcement with angle material which I think will do the job nicely.
