Brief Description:  Flap system clean up and re-install...

The various parts that make up the full electric flap actuating system and housing were collected from storage and cleaned and checked etc. The individual units were assembled and then installed in place in the cabin, starting with the actuator rod, bolted in place. Then the flap motor and screw jack were fitted to the housing arm and fixed in place, the housing block was slightly adjusted and bolted in place and after the back upright was installed the left side plate was fitted to the assembly to close it up - one side left open for inspection and final adjustment when the flaps are fitted. Tested the range of motion, freedom of movement and proper operation of the assembly and the motor, after, safety wiring the screw jack to the arm and adding some oil the system is working perfectly in both postiive - extend, and negative - retract modes.
With the sealant cured on the firewall I began sealing up the open gaps and holes that had to wait, mostly on the recess and on the parts installed on the firewall. Also on the bends and lap joins that weren't previously sealed.
