Brief Description: Wing skin finishing, tip template made and fitted
A very cold, wet and dark day with heavy storms and inscesent rain all day had me working indoors on the wing skin finishing again until I got sick of that and focused some attention to fitting the tip on the finished wing.
First I had to fit the aileron and flap again and found it a lot easier to clamp/tape in place lying down but had to measure out the alignment line as the jig I made before obviously wouldn't apply to a wing lying down out of the cradle. I measured and got reference points in the room and pulled a line to get them lined up but luckily the mrkings from the previos tip fitting helped me get all lined and matching as before.
I then made up a template of the outer rib/wing proile shape and fitted it to the wing and then marked the drilled holes to transfer to the fiberglass tip as per the picture. I will mark, drill then check each one before drilling the next
