Brief Description:  Strpped the wing LE to fix the sheared bolt....

having discovered the sheared bolt in the aileron bellcrank bracket and tiedown bar assembly, I had no choice but to start remioving the components on the forward side of the spar to get access to the assembly so I can fix the one miserable platenut.

I did - having read up on my options - try very carefully to drill it out, something I have done many times before, as a last ditch effort...but because the platenut is so soft and the AN bolt so hard, depsite careful punching and pilot drilling, the drill bit just wandered right through the threaded wall. No dice!

I removed all the tank attach bolts I had gone to great length to torque before :P and all the tank screws and was able to remove the tank then was delighted to find that I could access the offending parts from the leading edge rib without any more stripping. I even managed to turn the bolt end out of the damaged platenut without removing any of the brackets or parts but the platenut really was too damaged for peace of mind and so the assembly was stripped. I am glad it was too because the workmanship was shocking on this assembly, so I was able to replace a number of platenuts and cleaned up then re primed the bracket and spacers in assembly as well as deburring all the holes in this assembly which had not been done for some reason.

Was able to fix then re install all the necessary parts during the course of the day and by the end of the day had the primed and finalized serrvo installation kit installed in place - will finish this installation tomorrow and make the final adjustments to the assembly.
