Did some final cleaninig up on the stab tip bottoms before priming for paint, then saftied the joiner bolts and checked the skins, rivets and all parts for sound structure before being covered by paint.
Had to refit the empenage fairing over the stab to establish the final holes marked on the stab. The existing holes were used to drill for the nutplates and one or two which were drilled in the wrong place when I first fitted the fairings months ago will have to be filled.
Started installing the nutplates on the stab roots and tinman wwashers and final holes in the fairing to match. The same has to be done to the vertical stab.
Also had to trim the stab cover plates whilst I have the stab by dry fitting the stab in place, marking then trimming on the modified belt sander. Got this completed with great fits of these to the stab.
Miserable weather made it very difficult to finish the fiberglass but continued a bunch of sanding on the vert stab and rudder - this is really going slow and a major struggle for me.
