Brief Description: trying to finish this fiberglass work...
Came in today quite dissapointed that there is still a ton more work to do before I can get these empennage parts off to pain. I had hoped that the painter would have done all the finishing since I am not experienced or trained to do so and am taking forever.
Put the hardened and filled rudder horn face on the sander and got the flat and straight face I want to match the fin post perfectly, now have to clean it up then add a layer of cloth and resin to finish the horn. Made up the corners of all the tip ends with blobs of filler and resin and began shaping these ends to better match the metal parts.
More non-descript sanding and filling in an attempt to close up all gaps and get flush fits of the tips to the metal structures.
Started the fit and installation of the tail beacon light fitting in the rudder base fairing....had to make up spacers and install blind nuts and cut out access hole.
