Brief Description: Servo rod redo and fit, stab tips and elvator tips
Had to redo the Pitch servo rod after a stupid mistake on the first one, also had to trace the part numbers and source replacements which were ordered. Made up the new part properly and carefully this time and reinstaleld the assembly with great results and no more slop or play as before with both ends lined up and allowance for adjustment.
Also carried on work on the glass tips - first the stab tips were finalised - filled and filed and primed then fitted and trimmed then strips of scrap alclad were cut for reinforcement on the inside for the CS4 rivets. The first tip which was that of the right stab was installed with rivets and bonded and filled and is to be final filled and finished by the painter.
The left side tip was also completed but has to be riveted next, the corresponding elevator tips were also trimmed to match and were match-drilled and are to be rivetd and a bunch of filler applied to build up the trailing edges and gaps on the horn faces which I had to ask about and research online.
