When I originally installed the diodes, I didn't have any big ring connectors. I put them behind the larger lugs. I wasn't happy with that approach. So I ordered the correct connectors and some spare diodes (I had cut one too short).
I cleaned this up tonight and tested the contactor.
It feels good to be able to flip the switch and have something happen.
