Brief Description: Planning and Pulling Wire to Empennage
I aggonized for a while over the routing of the wires to the rear. I had planned to put the strobe wiring in a separate run. But I finally decided that the shielded strobe wire shouldn't have any effect on the trim servo or nav light. I decided to route the wire down the right side of the aircraft, for the shorted run from the switch panel.
Were possible, I used the existing tooling holes and expanded them to 3/4". But in a few areas, I had to use new holes to prevent interference with the pushrod or rudder cables. I used the recommendations of the Wiring Kit to drill through the spar. While we are not using an aft battery, I drilled that hole, and one on the other side, to allow plenty of access between the fore and aft sides of the spar. I plan to dedicate one of these ports for RF cable only.
I pulled the wire bundle from the rear of the aircraft to the mid-section. I intent to put in a few Adel clamps to support the wire bundle between bulkheads.
