We started out by re-installing the HS and elevators. Charles got to experience the joy of installing the forward HS bolts. It is pretty tough to get one's hands in position to torque down the bolts.
We then drilled the hole connecting the two elevator cranks to the pushrod. Charles then climbed in the fuselage and hooked up the bellcrank. We got to move the elevators remotely for the first time.
We found an issue, however. The pushrod interferred with the aft bulkhead in the elevator down position. We decided to releive the bulkhead to make room for the pushrod. This interfered with the top rivet in the bulkhead doubler. We will install an additional rivet once the empennage is removed.
We continued working forward to install the remaining pushrods and the sticks. Way cool!
