Brief Description:  Wemac

I couldn't get in gear today. I was in the shop about 3 hours, but only did about 1/2 hour of work.

I studied the schematic of the avionics. I have the SL30 set up top. Logically, that is #1. It is wired into #2 of the audio panel. I think the feeds to the EFIS are all programmable. I considered swapping it down, but that had all kinds of implications - the biggest was the cutout in the panel. I decided that I would swap the audio feeds to the GMA340. Seems pretty simple. But I found that I don't have the proper extraction tool. Off to DigiKey to order one. While there, I looked for an RG400 coax stripper. They have lots of $100 tools. But I only have 20 or so connections to make. I found one at ProVantage for $8.

I looked at screwing the front panel to the base instead of riviting it. I need some K2000 end platenuts. Off to Aircraft Spruce to order.

I received my shipment from Aircraft Spruce after lunch with the Wemac. It was simple enough to layout a 2" hole, drill it, and install the Wemac. It really was a matter of minutes.

From there, I looked at the NACA vent for fresh air to the Wemac. It looks like Charles ran into some kind of problem. I don't know quite what. I couldn't get motivated to install it, but it looks simple. Maybe tomorrow.
