Unloading was easier than expected. Vans carefully tied everything down with about 100 ropes. I un-knotted them, trying to save the ropes, which Patty promptly threw away. (She probably had the right idea).
The fueslage comes packed with parts. It took about 1/2 hour to get all of the parts out and unwrapped (to lighten the fuselage before moving)
Van's recommends 3 people to unload the fuselage, but I thought Patty and I could do it. As we were starting, another couple came by and offered to help. With the 4 of us, it was really easy. I doubt that the fuselage weighs 150#. The wings were lighter yet and easilly handled by Patty and me.
I almost damaged the upper cowling by stepping on it (near miss). Vans had it under a blanket where it was hidden. Fortunately, I was in one of my rare cautious modes and found it when stepping near it and feeling something odd.
Total time to unload was under an hour. We got the Monster Truck back to U-Haul only 40 hours and 700 miles after picking it up.
