Brief Description:  EAA Stage Inspection

Tom Porta came up today to review our firewall-forward progress. Other than the baffles and some electrical hookups, we are about ready to close up the FWF.

Tom was generally supportive. I had a number of questions regarding hose and cable placement. He had a couple of simple suggestions which we immediately incorporated.

For example, the Cabin Muff Output hose was potentially chafing on the fuel line. Tom offered a simple solution of just shortening the hose (Image 1)

Additionally, he suggested a cable heat guard from Summit Racing on the mixture control and adding heat protection to the starter cable as it passes near the exhaust.

Most other concerns were dismissed.

All in all, we were happy with the audit. Good feedback. We are generally making the right decisions.
