It was a beautiful November day at the airport - 70 degrees and sunny. Skiing seems so far away...The down side was that there were lots of folks out and about. I had visitors for three hours straight. Nice to see them, but I didn't get much done.
Early today, iw as trimming the left side baffle to fit to the left front. I made a paper template that seemed to fit well. Even though I left extra material when cuttnig the exisiting baffle, because of the complex geometry, I cut the side baffle too short. I could have covered it up with a patch, but that's not the kind of airplane I am building.
I spent a couple hours re-making the left side baffle. It was rewarding to start with a sheet of raw aluminum and end up with the "perfect" baffle.
From there, I checked and double checked the fit of the side to the bottom, then drilled and cleco'ed the parts. Tomorrow, i will rivet and move on to the front center baffles, now that the geometry is locked down.
