The prop shop got back to me - $400 to convert my governor to clockwise. Not attractive.
I went back to rethink the problem. TheVan's bracket was blinding me. I looked outside the box and noticed that I had some hard-points on the engine that I could use.
I sketched up a bracket last night, then went to the shop today to build a prototype. I used light aluminum sheet - this is just a proof of concept.
I quickly cut up the pattern (Imange 1) and folded it with a flange tool. Good enough. The geometry is perfect.
I cleaned up the drawign (2). I needed to add a cutout for the crankcase cross bolts. I am not fluent with sheet metal CAD, so it took a little longer than I planned.
The prototype works great. Now I just have to convert it to steel.
I did a bit more investigation to the firewall forward tasks. The next task is to finish the baffling. The baffles drive some of the routing and locations. I verified that the new prop bracket is free from interfering with the baffles or the air box.
