Brief Description: Fuel Level Sensor and Tank Covers
I finished attaching the fuel level sensors to the cover plates and then attached the cover assembly to the tank. I got the left tank cover on backwards and had to remove and replace it.
The sealant I used on the gaskets is supposed to remain pliable but stable. I am concerned a little that it could end up at the bottom of the tank and eventually in the fuel filters. The material is gritty enough that it would not pass through the filters into the engine. I estimate that there probably is much less than a tablespoon of excess material squeezed out around the gaskets. We will want to carefully sample the fuel during the first few preflights
