Brief Description: Conduit and Bushings

I focused on the left wing, which has the most wiring. I quickly ran the antenna COAX thru existing bushings in the wing. A second set of bushings will be used for the pitot tube. I decided that we needed two additional runs: one for the pitot heat wiring and one for the wingtip lights. I decided to add additional 7/16" bushings for the pitot heat (I don't want to run anything near the COAX for noise reasons) and a 3/4" conduit out to the wingtip for nav, strobes and any future expansion.
Drilling through the ribs under the pre-riveted was a real pain. The ideal way would be to use a drill extension. This didn't work for the 7/16" holes as the extension was slightly over 1/2". And for the 3/4" hole, the cutter shank is 3/8", too large for the 1/4" extension.
I ended up using a 9" x 3/16" drill to get through the first two ribs. From there, I chucked the unibit into a 1/4" socket drive and hand "drilled" the larger hole. Even then, I had to fish the drill in first, stick it through the rib, then connect the socket drive. This was very tedious, but it did work.
Drilling the 3/4" holes was simpler. I had a 3 step process. First I used the 3/16" drill to create a pilot hole. Then I used the #1 Unibit to enlarge this to 1/2". At this diameter, I could use the drill extension. I worked in systematically - pilot hole, 1/2" hole, then the final 3/4" Unibit. Repeat for the next rib. I couldn't get an extension on the 3/4" Unibit, so I had to chuck it up in the 1/4" socket to get through the wingwalk ribs. Working through the uncovered portions of the wing was straightforward.
I drilled an partially deburred the left wing. The right wing remains for tomorrow. It will be simpler, needing only a 3/4" conduit. The COAX will go through existing bushings.
