Brief Description:  Drilling and painting pushrods

This was a very slow day. I basically drilled 8 holes and painted. Not much to show for 4 hours.

In the good news category.... I finally learned how to set up the HVLP sprayer. I had missed a critical air control and finally was able to get a very fine mist spray. Unfortunately, it was only after sloshing way more paint than needed onto the pushrod tubes, resulting in drips. I waited for the paint to dry then sanded out some of the drip lines. I keep telling myself we are not building a work of art, but it is tough to let sloppy paint go by. As done, the paint is wonderful at function: it prevents corrosion. And it will never be seen other than at annual inspection. Still, I could do better.

Fortunately, the next step will be very rewarding: mounting the ailerons and push rods. It is obvious that it is becoming an airplane. And, the controls are well built and pretty friction free. Who cares about some stinking drips buried inside the wing... (me)
