Brief Description: Building Aux Battery Compartment
Cameron was assigned to build a compartment for the Aux Battery. Along the way, I decided it would be a nice place for the engine monitor electronics as a lot of wires have to make their way to the cabin from the engine.
I helped Cameron very little. I did check his layout before drilling any holes. I helped a bit there we we found that getting good measurement references were difficult. Problem solved by making a paper doll pattern and transfering it to the sheet aluminum.
I showed hiim how to install nut plates, something he had read about but never done. He wasn't exposed to the key tools, like the nut plate drill guide or the accordian rivet layout tool. He tried lots of riveting techniques including squeezing on the C Frame and pneumatic hammer driving. He used the rivet go/no go gauge - something else he hadn't seen.
Meanwhile, I started wiring up the primary electrical system.
