I took a couple steps backwards over the last couple days..
In reviewing the front baffles, I found the hole behind the prop couldn't be properly sealed. So I started moving the front baffles back. Then I looked more closely at the baffle floors and how they wrap under the front cyclinders to force the air to follow the cylinder. Not a good fit - the floors were mounted too high.
I also had ordered the fiberglass air filter frame from Vans RV14 package. This fits onto my existing snorkle just fine, but it defines a precise angle for the left front floor angle. This confirmed my prior analysis that the floors were too high and too angled.
I ordered new floors from Vans RV14. They look like they should work great and provide a better design.
The baffles are on hold until Van's delivers on Friday.
