I trimmed a bit more before deciding that the canopy was about down to size. I then heated up the inside with a space heater and started cutting. In only a couple minutes, I had severed the canopy.
The parts instantly became more workable. The rear of the canopy had been bulging out quite a bit, but now it is easier to pull it in towards the frame. Great!
I continued with the trimming. I used the Dremmel Tool drum sander to relieve the plexiglass where it touched the frame supports. It was amazing how simple this part was. I then used 100 grit sand paper to smooth the cut lines. I need to further smooth it tomorrow.
On reviewing the plans, I probably have too much of a skirt around the frame. The plexiglass can be trimmed back a little further. I need some more squeeze clamps, though. I will pick some up tomorrow.
I am still waiting for the plexiglass drills. Hopefully they will come tomorrow so we can drill this weekend.
I did recieve the UMHW slider blocks. I drilled them and installed, completing the rail system.
