Brief Description:  Rudder Trailing & Leading Edges

Its been 2 1/2 days since I glued the trailing edge and it seems to be well cured. I pulled all the clecoes, cleaned the sealant out of the dimples and wiped the edge with lacquer thinner so the rivet tape would hold properly. I decided to alternate the factory head position of every other rivet. Placed the first set of rivets and taped them in place. Turned the Rudder over and partially set the rivets with the back-rivet set. Turned the Rudder over again and used the mushroom set to finish setting the rivets... they all turned out pretty nice. I then went through the same procedure on the other side of the Rudder. I am quite pleased with the results... nice straight trailing edge and all the rivets set very nicely. My son, Kevin, helped me roll the leading edge, which was a bit of a task. I then drilled, deburred and set the blind rivets. Last item to complete was fitting the rod end bearings into the nut plates. Be sure to use the 3616 bearing in the lower location and the two 3614 bearings in the middle and top positions. My third part is completed... now onto the Elevators :-)
