Brief Description:  Trim Tab

Cut out the two foam ribs for the trim tab and made the two V-clamps per the full size drawings. Modified the trim tab horns for electric trim. Clecoed the trim tab assembly together and match-drilled the holes. Deburred all the parts and dimpled the holes as required. Scuffed the rib locations as per the plans. Cleaned and primed the parts. Once the parts were dry I riveted the trim tab horns to the skin per the sequence called out in the instructions. Then I finished bending the trim tab skin to the correct position. Next step is to bend the ends of the skin to close the inboard and outboard ends. What I discovered is that it is impossible to complete the bend on the inboard skin after the control horns are installed. So I drilled out the control horn rivets and then completed the bends in both ends... they turned out very nice. The control horns were then re-riveted and the spar was clecoed into position. After contemplating the small inside work space in which to buck the bottom-skin-to-spar rivets I decided to use the alternate approach and get MK-319-BS blind rivets to use on the lower spar. I had 8 of these rivets left over so I installed them and will order the rest from Van's on Monday.
