Brief Description:  Elevator Trailing Edge Work

I used a piece of aluminum angle that was used to glue the trailing edge of the Rudder as support for the left Elevator. However, I had to make a run to Lowes to pick up a piece of aluminum angle long enough to support the right Elevator. I clamped and marked the aluminum angle for the right Elevator and then center-punched all the marks and used the bench drill to drill the holes in the angle. I decided not to match-drill the angle this time because when I match-drilled the support angle with the rudder some of the holes in the rudder were slightly enlarged. After drilling the support angle I fitted in to the Elevator and all the holes lined up nicely. Next step was to machine counter-sink the AEX wedge for the right Elevator. Then I used the visegrip dimpler to dimple the trailing edge. Test fit the parts one last time and then mixed up the fuel tank sealant and spread a thin layer on the AEX wedge for both Elevators and clecoed everything together.
