Brief Description: Mounting Modification Of Oil Cooler Air Duct
The oil cooler air duct had to be modified to allow attachment to the oil cooler at the correct point.
The mounting tab with the two mounting holes coming off the rear section of the air duct was cut off. The mounting tab that was cut off was simply too short to reach to the oil cooler after it was moved to and remounted at the aft-most pair of cap screw bolts in the engine intake manifold. To span this new distance, a new mounting tab was fabricated just like the original, only longer so it could reach to and overlap the point where the original was cut off the air duct.
In this overlap area, three nutplates were mounted to secure the air duct to. The nutplates were mounted on the top side, so the screws could be inserted from the underneath side to mount the air duct.
Cutting off the original mounting tab from the oil cooler air duct.
Fabricated a new longer mounting tab for the oil cooler air duct.
