Brief Description: Continued Fitting Of The Upper Cowling Piece
Continued multiple iterations of rear edge trimming and checking the fit until the rear edge was trimmed just enough to fit well at the firewall mounting lip and the openings for cooling air intake and the prop hub aligned together in the front. Pinned in place with prelinimary clecos to hold the position along the firewall mounting lip and inside the air intake openings.
Somewhere along the process of fitting the bottom half, I had to have had some shifting as the circular prop hub opening is no longer centered around the prop hub. I don't know where this got off, but I am continuing as there is really no way I can see to change the position of the lower cowling at this point. I will complete the cowling fitting, then finish with a slight refabrication of the area surrounding the prop hub to recenter the opening around the hub if this is needed after the complete cowling is mounted and secure.
Blocks cut and fit to the Firewall to support the rear cowling edge during fitting.
Upper cowling piece trimmed to allow alignment of the two sections.
Front air intake holes and prop hub opening align, while rear edge fits under the mounting lip.
