Brief Description: Redesigning Tray Side Panel For ACM Mount
Evaluated current mounting trays for accessory component layout and mounting. Determined there was not enough clearance to mount the ACM on the trays. Modified the design of the right vertical side panel of the left (pilot) mounting tray. Side panel was extended all the way up to the underneath side of the glare shield. Folded mounting tabs were added to install nutplates to allow attaching the new vertical side panel to the glare shield for added strength and panel support.
The new panel will now allow the ACM to be mounted vertically on this right panel. Cabling attached to the ACM shouldn't obstruct cables going to the display.
Created new toolpaths for the new ACM side panel and cut the panel on the CNC. Bent the flanges and installed the nutplates on the panel. Replaced the original right side panel with the new ACM mounting panel and reinstalled the mounting tray. Mounted a card stock template of the ACM to specs to check the layout.
