Brief Description: Rigging And Running Throttle And Mixture Cables
Worked on running cables from the dual throttle quadrants and the mixture control to the AeroInjector.
I drilled and grometted both throttle and mixture cable holes through the firewall. Both cables were connected to appropriate control linkages on the AeroInjector and test rigged. Both seem they will be fine.
Securing and adjusting the throttle cable from the Pilot's throttle quadrant was tricky due to the need to adjust the cable securing to allow the full-open throttle to coincide with the throttle lever being just in contact with the forward part of the throttle frame. I like to hit the positive stop of lever to frame contact to know the throttle is at wide open throttle (WOT).
Set the wire throttle cable position and tightened it down, then verified through multiple full-open to full-closed throttle cycles that the AeroInjector throttle slide was indeed at full-open or full-closed position.
Spent some time fine tuning the throttle hardware to allow it to "square-up" a bit as it was mounted and the lever tightened down.
Also connected the mixture cable to the AeroInjector mixture control and ensured it could be routed, and operate the mixture control linkage from idle-cutoff to a full 90 degrees of arm rotation.
Final routing check of the mixture cable will require the hole to be drilled in the instrument panel and the mixture control mounted. This is because the cable will have to bend down from the mounting position and run directly under the fuel tank straight to the firewall access hole. I fabricated a small grometted hanging bracket to secure the cable to the underneath side of the tank via the tank straps.
