Brief Description: Mounting Battery Box And AeroInjector Air Filter
Began mounting the battery box to the firewall. Laid a piece of card stock over the holes in the workbench surface that I had clecoed the box to in order to ensure a square mount. Punched the holes used into the card stock. Placed the card stock on the firewall in the desired mounting position and transferred the holes to the firewall. Then silver clecoed the battery box onto the firewall with the key mounting holes.
Drilled all #40 pilot holes for mounting the battery box. Clecoed all mounting hinges with #40 silver pilot clecos, then up-drilled to #30 rivet holes. Riveted all mounting hinges in position, then hinge pinned the battery box onto the firewall. Inserted and latched the battery in the box to check that the fit was secure. All good and battery is securely held.
Installed the fuel pump cover plate over fuel pump attachment point. Used high-temp gasket material.
Prepped the AeroInjector for mounting the filter assembly. Marked and drilled the AeroInjector bell. Tapped to 10-32 threads for an AN3 bolt, then mounted the air filter assembly.
Punched template used to produce the primary corner mounting holes for battery box mount on firewall.
High-temp permatex gasket material used to mount and seal the fuel pump cover plate.
Drilling and tapping the filter assembly mounting hole on the bell of the AeroInjector.
