Brief Description:  Flap And Aileron Pushrod Assemblies

Built SNB-C03-01 main aileron pushrod assembly (x2), SNB-C03-02 aileron pushrod assembly (x2), and SNB-C03-03 flap pushrod assembly (x2).

Seated bearing sleeves with the press. Drilled sight holes on all the pivot bearings, then attached to threaded parts as specified to the proper minimum depths. Set the locking nuts to snug the parts.

Cut the main aileron pushrods to specified lenght and deburred the ends. Drilled the 4 90 degree holes, stagered between 3/8" and 1" from the end of the main aileron pushrod tube. Inserted the threaded end caps and marked for pilot drilling as specified in the plans. Had to spend quite some time reducing the OD of one of the four end caps. One aileron pushrod tube was slightly smaller in diameter than the other. Enough so that the first cap was tapped into the end of the tube, but could not be removed for further deburring the back side holes. Reduced the OD of the second end cap for that pole to allow an easier fit that allowed removal for deburring. Drilled #40 pilots.

Updrilled to #30 hole size, then dissambled and deburred. Reassembled and final rivetted end caps in position.

Screwed pivot bearings into end caps and set overall length to 89 23/32" between both bolt eye centers. Snugged lock washers to hold positions.
