I contructed a card stock pattern to get an accurate length for the fairing cutomized to each leg by putting the top curvature on a 10" wide piece of card stock, then the bottom curvature on a piece of cardstock, then used a third piece in the center.
I fit the top card around the leg and to the bottom fuselage skin. Then bottom was fit around the leg to the wheel fairing and mounting plate, and lastly the center gap between the two pieces was filled with the third piece of cardstock. This gave a nice pattern to the exact size needed customized to each leg.
From this I was ready to layout and cut the first aluminum test fairing from the 0.020" sheet aluminum.
